The success of the change is related to the preparation of documentation and of the cargo to be sent to Brazil. To new goods, according to Decree No. 4543, 12/26/2002 day, the passenger (client) is entitled to bring a new item each, stating quantity, description, make, model, year of manufacture and serial number.

New products in duplicity are subject to fines, provided for in the law and applied by the Brazilian Receita Federal. For travellers returning to Brazil with period of less than one year or a foreigner without a residence permit, the tax liable on the value of the goods is of 50% to the import tax (for undeclared goods, fine + 50%).

Stages of change

Then, go to living room, kitchen, bathroom and so on. It may sound bureaucratic, but at the time of inspection, check everything will be easier.

Then make a declaration of assets with values in Reais (R$), in computer, containing these boxes. If the change contains items such as tools, machinery and instruments, necessary for the exercise of the profession, art or craft of the traveler, is required to prove the activity developed.

The logistics process

It is necessary to link a customs broker to the CPF of the traveler. This step is required to hire a specialist to take care of the paperwork.

In parallel and after confirmed the arrival of the goods, the freight forwarder may request the transfer of the container for a dry port. Fails to deliver empty container unit within the period stipulated by the contract of carriage may generate financial disorders and is the main concern of the customs broker.

With the proceedings docketed, after a period of 15 days for the Inspector that jurisdiction to bind the two Ssns, the customs clearance can be started.

With the binding ready, the Customs Broker registers the DSI (Simplified Import Declaration). Just a few more days to wait for the analysis of customs tax.

With the documentation, the audit confirms the tax exemption and forwards the case to the Customs for customs Conference.
